Where was that homestand at all season long?

After posting one of the worst home records over the course of the year, the Cleveland Indians finally gave their home fans something to cheer about during the week, as they won a pair of series against two playoff contending teams, the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees. Now, they will rematch with the Twins on their home turf of Target Field for a three-game series to start the Indians’ eleven-game, four-city road trip.

The Indians (53-60) continued to torment teams in the playoff hunt by winning their first of two series against the Yankees this season. It took 16 innings on Tuesday night to declare a winner, but Michael Brantley’s walkoff single in extras gave the Indians their third straight win. They extended that to four straight on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory in a well-pitched game from Danny Salazar. A large early deficit did not stop the Indians from clawing back into the game, but they just ran out of time as they dropped an 8-6 final on Thursday to miss out on the sweep. Read More
