Finale Between Tribe and White Sox Postponed

Rain in downtown Cleveland washed out the scheduled contest between the Indians and the visiting Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon.
After playing five games in a three-day span, the Indians will get a little breather. The team’s three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend was interrupted by threats of bad weather Saturday after the two teams played through ugly conditions on Friday night. The cancellation of the middle game of the set forced a doubleheader on Sunday, with a previous rainout already booked for a double dip on Memorial Day. The White Sox and Tribe split the contests on Monday before the host Indians took game three of the four-game set on Tuesday night.
Wednesday’s game has been rescheduled for September 23rd at 1:10 PM ET as part of a day-night doubleheader.
Cleveland already had an off-day on the schedule on Thursday before a three-game set in Baltimore against the Orioles. Another day off follows on Monday before the club opens up a two-game series against the Cardinals from St. Louis. The team will be off again on Thursday before returning home next Friday for a seven-game homestand.
