Cleveland Indians pitcher Jim Bagby is acquired by the Pittsburgh Pirates through a waiver claim.

Bagby was an instrumental member of the Indians’ championship team of 1920. After leading the league with 31 wins, 48 games pitched, 30 complete games, and 339 2/3 innings pitched that season, he came back to earth in 1921, going 14-12 with a 4.70 ERA while throwing 148 fewer innings. He was 4-5 in 1922 with a 6.32 ERA in 25 starts.

He would go 3-2 in 21 games for the Pirates in 1923 to end his career at the age of 33.
