Baseball is underway…sort of.
In most places around the league, Major League Baseball action has returned and in force. The Cleveland Indians, however, have had a dark gray rain and snow cloud following them for six straight days. Contests on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday were postponed by inclement weather as the team had to cancel their Home Opener, to very little public fanfare. The game was made up, a loss to Boston on Tuesday, but the Tribe got into the win column on Wednesday despite wet and windy conditions at Progressive Field all game long.
Their road trip to Chicago to take on the White Sox for three games was just as eventful, as freezing temperatures and precipitation of all sorts attempted to interfere with the White Sox’s opening weekend festivities. Cleveland spoiled Chicago’s snowy opener on Friday before losing late on Saturday, with the rubber match cancelled by rain showers that were expected all day long.
