ICYMI at DTTWLN – March 28 to April 3

The long wait is over – baseball is back on the shores of Lake Erie.

Today, the Cleveland Indians and the Boston Red Sox meet for the first of their six meetings this season and the only matchup in Progressive Field between the two clubs. As both teams prepared for this day, plenty of news and notes took place as each club finalized their roster.

There were a few surprises on the Indians roster, as Ross Detwiler and Joba Chamberlain were named winners of bullpen spots. Trevor Bauer was the unexpected loser of the four and fifth starter camp battles and also landed in the bullpen. Michael Brantley and Lonnie Chisenhall were placed on the 15-day disabled list and Tommy Hunter will follow suit prior to the home opener. To make room for the minor league guys Detwiler and Marlon Byrd, Zach Walters and Giovanni Soto were designated for assignment, with more moves to come on Monday.

Here’s what else you may have missed in the final week before six months of official Tribe baseball…
