Bryant Walkoff Sends Tribe to Windy City Loss; Cubs 2, Indians 1

Corey Kluber struck out 11 in 7.2 innings but the Indians lost, 2-1, on Monday on Kris Bryant’s two-out, ninth-inning homer for the Cubs.

Kluber now has eight starts with 10 or more strikeouts this season and 21 for his career; he has 19 such outings the last two seasons, second in the Majors in that category behind Chris Sale of the White Sox.

Kluber exited trailing 1-0, as the Cubs; Anthony Rizzo tripled home Chris Coghlan. But in the ninth, Ryan Raburn was hit by a pitch (and pinch-run for by Abraham Almonte), Francisco Lindor singled and Carlos Santana singled in Almonte.

Bryant then homered off Zach McAllister after McAllister had struck out the first two Cubs batters in the inning.

W: Hector Rondon (5-2)

L: Zach McAllister (3-4)

HR: Bryant (20, 9th inning off McAllister 0 on, 2 Out)
