Tribe Outlasts Yanks Late; Indians 7, Yankees 3

The Indians used another sterling outing from a starter to beat the Yankees for the fifth time in six tries in 2015, 7-3.

Carlos Carrasco struck out 11 in 6.2 innings, improving to 12-9. The game marked Carrasco’s sixth career start with 10 or more strikeouts – all since September 2. Carrasco struck out the side twice.

The Indians built a 4-1 lead that they carried to the eighth, but the Yankees scored twice in the eighth to make it 4-3. The Tribe, though, pushed three across in the ninth. Michael Brantley singled home Jose RamirezCarlos Santana’s fielder’s choice scored Jason Kipnis and Jerry Sands’ double scored Santana.

Ramirez went 3-for-3 with a walk, and scored three runs.
