Kluber Carves Up Twins to Take Series; Indians 8, Twins 1

Corey Kluber carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and pitched his sixth career complete game in the Indians 8-1 win Sunday at Progressive Field. The Indians took two of three from the Twins, scoring 34 runs on 47 hits.

Kluber registered his third complete game of 2015, striking out 10. It marked his seventh game of 2015 with 10 or more strikeouts, and the 20th of his career.

He also got run support, as Carlos Santana (RBI double in the first), Jose Ramirez (two-run single in the second), Yan Gomes (RBI double) and Abraham Almonte (two-run homer) had the big hits.

Almonte, (who went 4-for-5 Friday in his Tribe debut), and Chris Johnson (making his first start) went a combined 9-for-14 Saturday and Sunday; Johnson went 4-for-4 with two doubles in Sunday’s win.
