Tribe Ends Skid With Offensive Outburst; Indians 12, Royals 1

The Indians bats broke out of a slump with a 12-run, 18-hit day in the Tribe’s 12-1 win over Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon in front of 19,767 fans. The Indians ended a six-game losing streak with the victory.

Corey Kluber was his usual self, throwing a complete game and allowing just one run while striking out six. Kluber has the second-lowest run support on the Majors, but not on Wednesday; the Tribe led, 2-0, before a six run sixth. Giovanny Urshela hit a solo homer. Francisco Lindor hit a three-run homer. Michael Brantley hit a solo homer.

The Indians then piled on with four more in the eighth, on a Brandon Moss two-run single and a Yan Gomes two-run homer.

W: Corey Klluber (6-11)

L: Jeremy Guthrie (7-7)

HR: Urshela (3, 6th inning off Guthrie 0 on, 1 Out); Lindor (5, 6th inning off Guthrie 2 on, 1 Out); Brantley (8, 6th inning off Guthrie 0 on, 1 Out); Gomes (5, 8th inning off Luke Hochevar 1 on, 0 Out).
