Cookie Crumbles in Series Opener; Astros 9, Indians 4

The Astros jumped on the Indians for four runs off Carlos Carrasco in the first inning and beat the Tribe, 9-4, on Monday night.

Carrasco, who came within an out of pitching a no-hitter on Wednesday in Tampa, allowed five runs in four innings and fell to 10-7.

The Indians cut the lead to 5-2 in the fourth, but double plays ended rallies in the fourth and the fifth. The Astros subsequently scored three in the sixth to all but put the game away. Preston Tucker was 4-for-5 for Houston, with two runs driven in.

Jason Kipnis extended his home hit streak to 29, the longest in ballpark history. David Murphy had a sac fly and Brandon Moss drove in a pair of runs.
