Tribe Routed Early and Late; Cubs 17, Indians 0

The Indians suffered a big defeat to the Cubs on Wednesday, 17-0, as Chicago jumped on Tribe starter Shaun Marcum and never looked back.

Chicago scored sixth in the second off Marcum, who was victimized by a couple defensive plays that should have been made. The Cubs then poured it on, with four in the third and seven in the ninth – all unearned, off position players Ryan Raburn and David Murphy as Terry Francona tried to save the bullpen.

W: Tsuyoshi Wada (1-1)

L: Shaun Marcum (3-2)

HR: Addison Russell (5, 2nd inning off Marcum 1 on, 2 Out); Rizzo (12, 2nd inning off Marcum 1 on, 2 Out); Chris Denorfia (1, 3rd inning off Webb 2 on, 0 Out); Kris Bryant (8, 9th inning off Murphy 3 on, 2 Out)
