Pair of Early Homers Pace Tribe to Series Win; Indians 5, White Sox 2

For the first time since the opening series of the season, the Indians won a series–taking three of four from the Chicago White Sox. Thursday evening the Tribe used a pair of first inning homers from Mike Aviles and Nick Swisher to mount a four-run inning. It was enough to take the Tribe to a 5-2 win in the Windy City.

Danny Salazar fired six strong innings, allowing just five hits and three walks, while striking out eight. Ryan Webb and Marc Rzepczynski each chipped in with scoreless efforts before Bryan Shaw gave up a pair in the ninth inning.
