The Indians win their eleventh game in a row for the second time this season in a 7-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Cleveland Stadium. Bob Feller improves to 13-3 on the season after allowing three runs on eight hits in six and one-third innings. Already having clinched the AL pennant, Cleveland’s 109th win increases their league lead to a season-high nine games.

Larry Doby and Vic Wertz supply the bulk of the offense. Doby hits a three-run home run, his 31st, in the second inning. Wertz started the scoring with a first inning RBI-single and added his 15th home run of the season in the ninth.
