Gregg made his Major League debut for the Cleveland Naps in 1911 at the age of 25 and quickly established himself as one of the best hurlers in baseball. He led the league with a 1.80 ERA that first season and would rack up a total of 72 wins in four seasons with Cleveland before being dealt to Boston.
