Free agent pitcher Kevin Millwood signs a one-year contract with the Cleveland Indians. The 30-year old starter missed nearly all of the last two months this past season with the Philadelphia Phillies due to acute tendonitis in his right elbow. Millwood would perform admirably, leading the league with a 2.86 ERA. However, he struggled in getting run support and ended up with a medicore 9-11 record in 30 starts. The Indians won 93 games that season but finished second in the division to the Chicago White Sox and missed the playoffs. Millwood would move onto the Texas Rangers the following season.
