Today in Tribe History: August 2, 1950

On August 2, 1950 Larry Doby hit 3 home runs in an 11-0 route of the Washington Senators at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Bob Lemon was the winning pitcher throwing a 3-hit shutout and racking up 8 strikeouts. Lemon not only shined on the mound that day but also at the plate hitting a 3-run homer in the 7th inning, his 5th of the season.
