Longtime Cleveland Indians third baseman Ken Keltner passes away at the age of 75.
Keltner spent 12 of his 13 Major League seasons in an Indians uniform, manning the third base position throughout his entire stay. He was an All-Star in seven seasons, including his best professional effort when he hit .297 with 31 home runs and 119 RBI for the world champion Indians squad in 1948.
He played just half of the 1949 season with the Indians and was released at the beginning of the next season. He signed afterwards with the Boston Red Sox and played 13 games with them, batting .321 in limited opportunities prior to his release in June of 1950, almost five months short of his 34th birthday.
