The Indians beat Kansas City, 6-2, in a rain-shortened game in KC on Thursday night. The Indians have won 12 of their last 17 games, and have won four straight road series.
The Indians scored four in the third for all they’d need: Jason Kipnis singled in Michael Bourn, and Michael Brantley followed with a single to score Kipnis. David Murphy then doubled in Carlos Santana and Brantley.
After KC got two back, Brandon Moss hit a two-run homer (his 10th) in the fifth for the final margin. The game was called after a 44-minute delay in the bottom of the eighth due to inclement weather.
Trevor Bauer pitched 6.2 strong innings, striking out five. In his last five starts, he’s 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 36 innings.
