Charlie Jamieson, a longtime left fielder for the Cleveland Indians, passes away at 76.
“Cuckoo” began his career with the Washington Senators before being selected off of waivers by the Philadelphia Athletics. He was traded to the Indians in 1919 and spent the next 14 years with the club, hitting .316 for his career. He appeared in his lone postseason in 1920 and hit .333 when the Indians won the World Series. He led the American League in singles in 1923 and 1924 and total hits in 1923.
