DiMaggio and Yanks Dominate Feller All Season

Yesterday, DiMaggio and the New York Yankees defeated Feller for the fourth time this season. Rapid Robert should be embarrassed enough being 0-4 against the Bronx Bombers this season, but how they are doing it is even worse.
New York has tallied 17 runs in four games against Feller and all have been by way of the home run ball. Feller already has allowed 17 bombs this season, but eight have come against the Yankees.
DiMaggio has done the most damage against Feller, hitting four homers and driving in 10 runs. Hitting .307 is a solid batting average, but DiMaggio’s home run percentage against Feller this season is actually .307. In addition to the four round trippers by DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, George McQuinn, Tommy Henrich and Johnny Lindell have all taken him deep.
The rarely humble Feller no longer can brag that he has a winning record against every team in the American League. After yesterday’s loss, Feller is now 21-22 lifetime against the Yankees. He is still four games better against every other team in the league all-time.
As Feller’s struggles continue, dropping him to 9-12 on the season, the Indians hold a first place lead by a mere half-game after yesterday’s loss. Indians manager Lou Boudreau has often said the Indians pennant chances are tied to Feller. If that continues to be the skipper’s belief, Rapid Robert needs to rectify not just his performance against the Yankees, but his ability to keep the ball in the park.
With the pennant race quickly developing into a four-team race, every game will matter in the standings over the last 70 contests. Feller needs to bring his best in every outing, but especially against fellow pennant chasers like New York.
