Cleveland makes a key veteran signing when future Hall of Fame first baseman Eddie Murray signs a four-year deal. Murray would serve as the primary designated hitter for the team in 1994-95 and part of ’96 before being traded. Murray’s 1995 season was a good one and helped pave the way for the team’s first trip to a World Series since 1954. In that ’95 season Murray hit .323 with 21 home runs, 21 doubles and 82 runs batted in.
