Today in Tribe History: December 19, 1975
Future Tribe slugger Russell Branyan is born on this date in Warner Robins, Georgia. Branyan was drafted by Cleveland in the seventh round of the 1994 amateur draft and spent his first four and a half seasons with the Indians. After bouncing around on a few different teams he found his way back to Cleveland in 2010 before being dealt again mid-season. In his 294 games with the Tribe he compiled 55 home runs and a whopping 343 strike outs, always the “Achilles’ Heel” of his game.
