Today in Tribe History: October 14, 1992

Led by several former and future Cleveland players, the Toronto Blue Jays become the first Canadian baseball team to reach the World Series with a 9 – 2 victory over the Oakland Athletics in Game Six of the American League Championship Series. Former Tribe stars Joe Carter and Candy Maldonado hit home runs for Toronto to lead the way. Future Tribe star Roberto Alomar wins series MVP. Toronto would become the first Canadien World Series champion ten days later when they defeat the Atlanta Braves 4 games to 2.
