With the emergence of Joe Judge at first base, the Washington Senators sell Chick Gandil to Cleveland for $7,500. Gandil would play one season for Cleveland before moving onto the Chicago White Sox and becoming a key figure in the “Black Sox Scandal” of 1919 and being banned from baseball for life along with seven others.
