Victor Martinez, who spent his first eight major league seasons with the Indians, was born on this date in 1978 in Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. Martinez was best known for his steady hitting that earned him two All-Star appearances in his time with the Tribe along with a Silver Slugger Award in 2004. Many will remember his tearful goodbye to the fans of Cleveland when he learned of his trade to Boston in 2009.
