The Indians trade veteran pitcher Bert Blyleven to the Twins for outfielder Jim Weaver, pitcher Curt Wardle and shortstop Jay Bell. Exactly one year later to the date Blyleven becomes the tenth pitcher in history to record 3,000 strikeouts.
