Grady Sizemore Out Two To Three Months
By Mike Brandyberry
According to the Cleveland Indians, Grady Sizemore underwent micro discectomy in Miami, Florida earlier today. According to Dr. Barth Green, recovery time is 8-12 weeks. The procedure was regarded as minimally invasive and he is expected to be back in Goodyear, Arizona soon to begin rehabilitation.
Sizemore has played only 101 games over the last two seasons. His $9 million option for this year was declined by the Tribe in late October, but the team restructured a new $5 million base contract in December. Sizemore can earn the $4 million lost through incentives, however, the incentives do not begin until Sizemore makes his 450th plate appearance. The chance to achieve any of those incentives has probably gone by the wayside with today’s procedure.
